Word of the Day Spelling Game

yourDictionary has been distributing its Word of the Day to an ever-widening circle of verbivores since the middle of the year 2000. A number of our joyous and fortunate recipients have asked for a way to maintain their new vocabulary. Now we are happy to present crossword puzzles, "Spell-binders," and Semantic Scrambles to help you maintain your mastery of these words. We hope you enjoy playing with them as much as we enjoyed constructing them.

Rules of the Game. The words of this game are all taken from yourDictionary's 'Word of the Day' feature. Select a new word by pressing the "START" button. Choose letters by pressing the letters in the keyboard provided. You are allowed a maximum of five wrong choices. If you fill in all the correct letters before using up your five mischoices, you win the game. Games are worth one point each. Each game lost is subtracted from your score at the same rate. A score of "0" means that you have won as many games as you have lost. If the score is negative, you have lost more than you have won. For the Word of the Day crossword puzzles, click here.
